Broadsword
Interactive Limited was founded in 1995, originally an offshoot
of Broadsword Television, but now fully independent, and is
managed and operated from the Aberystwyth office by it’s
management team, namely: David Rowe - CEO, John Jones-Steele -
Managing Director, Jim Finnis – Development Director and Nick
Court – Studio Manager.
Broadsword
Interactive Limited designs and produces computer software for
the Computer and console games industry. We also provide a
conversion service to and from PC, PS2, PSP, PS3, Xbox, Xbox
360, Gamecube, DS and Wii formats. This work involves the design
and development of innovative projects from concept to delivery
of either a master CD for the client or a download from the
internet, whichever is appropriate.
Broadsword has long realised the importance of the Internet for
developers, and has a 1Gb always-on fibre-optic connection. This
link has proved invaluable over the years and has meant working
with publishers and developers across Europe and the USA has
been as smooth as working with companies in the UK.
2006 was a stand-out year for Broadsword with recognition
on both a local and national basis for its reputation for
bringing projects in on time and on budget. The company was
nominated for a Develop Industry Excellence Award, Innovation (for Dance
Factory) and the Ceredigion Business Award which it duly won.
Contracts completed during 2006 included Dance Factory for Codemasters and Dance Fest & Street Dance for Oxygen
Interactive. 2007 saw the completion of Fruitfall DS for
System 3 & Impossible Mission on PS2 & Wii, again for System 3,
along with 25toLife for Eidos.
2008 sees Broadsword
expanding again, with major contracts for Eidos, XS Games and
Mastertronic ensuring that Wales' leading software developer is
at the forefront of development.
2008 has seen a continuation of Broadswords growth, with the
move to a new purpose built office block on the Science Park to house the expansion in both programming and
art/design departments which took place in February. The company will continue with its
traditional role of providing both innovative new product and
providing a conversion/porting service from any platform to any
platform.
